Easily Create Website Screenshots using Firefox & Screengrab!
Need to show website’s design to your customer? Want to capture a website screenshot for your school project? Or just want to create your website’s screenshot?
It is very simple to create and capture screenshots of websites. Involves only two words really ;) , Firefox & Screengrab.
Screengrab lets you create and capture what you can see in the window, the entire page, just a selection or a particular frame. You can save in high quality PNG format or you can copy it to clipboard for pasting in any application you want.
Just download Firefox and install Screengrab. Restart Firefox and you are ready!
Screengrab icon will appear in Firefox status bar. Just open the website you want to capture and click Screengrab icon in status bar. Saving or Copying to clipboard options will appear. Choose what you want and this will be the end result depending on what option you chose.
A tip for UBL Wallet online usage
If you happen to have UBL Wallet and have used it online then you might have had a problem where your transaction was declined. Same might go for UBL Wiz – the prepaid debit card of UBL.
I was trying to do a transaction recently and it was declined several times then I remembered what I did with first few transactions I had completed. I then tried that i.e. I entered my address exact same as it was on my Account Statement. The address was same of course but the difference being me entering House.No.XYZ while it was written as H No XYZ on my account statement, same goes for street details.
So make sure when you do an online transaction, enter the exact address as it appears on your account statement. If you use UBL e-Banking, just login to your account and copy the address given there.
Video capture your desktop for free
There are a number of softwares for the said job, video capturing the desktop, not most or all of them are free. I’d like to mention a desktop video capture software here that’s OpenSource and totally free and it does the job better than the paid ones.
It is CamStudio;
CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

UBL Wallet – Bad Experience…
UBL Wallet is the Debit Card being offered by UBL in Pakistan. A few weeks ago, UBL allowed its Debit Card to be used for online transactions just like a credit card. This has been a norm in most of the countries abroad but this is the first instance in Pakistan. Other Banks in Pakistan might soon follow UBL in this one. It’s a win win situation for us, the customers but unfortunately after using UBL Wallet on Internet, I lost all the excitement I had about using it online. Here is my experience with UBL Wallet. I think all these issues will be pretty much there with UBL Wiz – their so called prepaid debit card.
(1) UBL does not have a dedicated helpline for Credit Cards/Debit Cards and I don’t know why but their systems are slow. I was put on long holds during session activation procedures, inquiries and complaints.
(2) You do not get the option of setting the maximum limit for the session transaction in foreign currency. You have to do the conversion your self and tell them an approximate limit. This might be a limitation due to the fact that Debit Card is connected to the Bank Account but my transactions failed twice due to this since they include the session fee in the maximum limit you set and the fee too is double than what they advertise! (Read ahead)
UBL Wiz – Prepaid Debit Card in Pakistan
You heard that right! United Bank Limited now offers Prepaid Debit Cards in Pakistan, being called UBL Wiz by their marketing team. I think I can safely say that UBL is the first Bank to offer Prepaid VISA Debit Cards in Pakistan, I just hope it’s easy to avail.
As per UBL’s website, getting the card is as simple as filling a form and submitting it to any of the selected Branches of UBL. Their website Branch list is showing a great number of Branches throughout Pakistan but a note on the page says that is only available in the major cities like Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi. One can always call their toll free helpline @ 0800-11825 and inquire about availability in UBL Branch near you.
Issuance, reload and usage fees are involved but bravo UBL for starting yet another great service. It can be used for shopping on Internet as well, just like a Credit Card but it has to be activated for Internet usage and activation fee per session seems to be 100 Rupees per session. The fee might be “nothing” to “hell no it’s looting” us from person to person =).
Online Shops in Pakistan
Internet and shopping online has always been a pain in Pakistan. There are quite a few online shops now shipping nation wide. They don’t have the largest of payment options or inventory but something is better than nothing.
A Google search for “Online Shops Pakistan” will give you a lot of results for shops that are supposed to be online but I am not going to post those. Just a selection of few which I have personally shopped from or my friends have done so. If you would like me to add some more to the list or you have any complaint about the shops I have mentioned or would like to suggest something to them. Please feel free to comment =)

They are Distributors for a few leading brands of Computer Hardware in Pakistan and are certainly the pioneers in bringing high end Computer Hardware to the Pakistani market i.e. Cooler Master Casings, Corsair XMS Gaming Memory, High end Graphics Cards etc.
The pioneers also mean that since there is no other Distributor or Shop competing with them. Their prices are somewhat on the high side but well, something is better than nothing.
Ordering procedure is old style. You have to e-mail them or ask them on telephone if the product is available and then ask for the final price including shipping. The only payment method they accept for online orders is online deposit in their Bank Account. After which the products are shipped by either TCS or OCS or SpeedEx.
