How to filter annoying calls in Windows Mobile devices?

Posted by The Patri0t 19 December, 2008 (1) Comment

Do Not Disturb is a software for Windows Mobile devices running Windows Mobile version 5, 6 or 6.1 which can filter off annoying calls to your device at times when you do not want to get disturbed i.e. in a meeting or while sleeping.

Get it from the link below to filter off those annoying calls in your Windows Mobile device.

Overview

Do Not Disturb is a downloadable Windows Mobile® application. It can automatically silence your phone before the first ring depending on the caller. Rejected callers will reach your voicemail, and you will still see their missed calls. It’s perfect when you’re working, relaxing, sleeping or out on a date.

Download Do Not Disturb to avoid unwanted calls, yet remain accessible to the people you care about.

* Simple, touch-friendly user interface to organize and activate “profiles” that reflect your mood.
* Rejected callers go directly to your voicemail within a split second after your phone rings.

HP $6000 Magic Giveaway; yet again!

Posted by The Patri0t 26 November, 2008 (0) Comment

Some of you might remember that HP had a big giveaway arranged through different blogs of a very expensive desktop replacement laptop and some softwares with it. It was a joint initiative of Microsoft, HP & BuzzCorp.

I am not sure if it’s being handled through BuzzCorp again but Microsoft & HP are surely together in this one too. I participated in almost every blog the last time, lol, and I hope I can do the same again. Everyone can join in this time too I think, it’s not just a US only competition :D which is excellent.

So what does $6000 get you?

* HP TouchSmart IQ816 PC (infamously used in Windows 7 multi-touch demoes)
* HP HDX 18 series Premium Notebook PC
* HP MediaSmart Connect digital media receiver
* HP Pavilion dv4 series Entertainment Notebook PC
* HP Mini 1000
* HP Photosmart C6380 Wireless AIO multifunction
* HP 564 Photo Value Pak
* Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate and Home Premium preinstalled
* Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition
* Corel VideoStudio X2
* Kung Fu Panda (DVD & Blu-ray)

The competition starts soon and more details on how you can enter at this site will follow, but I just want to say for today I have the utmost respect for HP and Microsoft, who under less than ideal economic situations is going to make this holiday season a memorable one for at least 50 people, their friends and family.

Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2: now available

Posted by The Patri0t 28 August, 2008 (1) Comment

Microsoft has officially released beta 2 of Internet Explorer 8 and is available in the following languages,

  • English
  • German
  • Japanese
  • Simplified Chinese

Following Operating Systems are supported:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Vista x64
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2003 x64

One of the most talked about new features is InPrivate Browsing, which enables you to browse the web without saving your history with Internet Explorer 8’s InPrivate Browsing. Now you can shop for that special gift with confidence knowing your family won’t accidentally find out or use a shared computer without leaving a trace.

Will you be using InPrivate Browsing mode? I think I will pass. I don’t need to use the said mode on any browser on my Home PC or on my laptop but yes on a Public Computer say in an Internet Cafe the said mode will be handy. Other than that, the way it is being marketed sounds funny.

Windows Vista SP1 RTM available for download

Posted by The Patri0t 7 February, 2008 (1) Comment

Microsoft will not be happy about this one. Their Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista is final according to them and it’s status is “RTM” but consumers will not be getting it soon. That’s not the case now though after the RTM version has appeared on Torrent websites i.e. The Pirates Bay ;-)

Comments of the people who downloaded it confirm that it is indeed the RTM [18000] build.
