MythBusters bust Intel for NVidia!
Yes, I am talking about those two weird looking guys from MythBusters (on Discovery Channel), Adam Savage & Jamie Hyneman. It came at the end of NVidia’s NVision 2008!
It was targeted at serial processing power of CPU vs GPU. MythBusters used two robots with paintball guns. A small one representing Intel’s CPU and a rather large one representing NVidia’s GPU. Both were put on a task to draw an image using paint balls. First was Intel’s, rapidly firing paintballs at a target to create a smiley face. It was an impressive sight and the audience liked it but not after they saw NVidia’s GPU on it’s serial processing work…
They brought out their mean robot representing NVidia that simultaneously fired 1102 paint balls on a target to create copy of the most famous painting, the Mona Lisa. This was of course a lot quicker than the CPU’s smiley and the audience was on fire!
Bravo to the marketing team of NVidia. This is like adding oil to the fire, can’t think of how Intel will respond.
