I have been told by Asus to send the board in question back to the Distributor, have them checked and then sent to Asus RMA but I am not going to do that. It’s Pakistan not USA. It will take months before I get a new board and besides I don’t think it’s a hardware problem, it’s the stupid drivers released by Asus.
The proof is simple, install Windows Vista and it loads up all drivers, you will not feel any performance lags or any thing like what you face in Windows XP after installing drivers provided by Asus. Windows Vista Ultimate’s installation time with me is 15-20 minutes only, the boot time with default drivers and installation is just 20 seconds with 1 GB of RAM and double of that with 512 MB of RAM.
I then downloaded version 6.10.01.5110 of Audio driver present on Asus P5B Deluxe drivers page, which were the latest at that time and still. New version has appeared on Asus FTP, I have yet to try that. After installing the Audio drivers provided by Asus and Soundmax, guess what… The boot time which was 20 seconds with default drivers reached 40 seconds!!!
I am not able to figure out the problem with Frontpanel Audio though, it does not work under Windows Vista’s default drivers. I have not tested if it works or not with drivers provided by Asus and Soundmax but I really don’t care about the front panel if there is no change in performance.
Assalaamu alaykum brothers and sisters,
The International Revert Conference registration is now set. This event is a first of its kind and has stirred a lot of interest. We are so pleased to hear of so many who wish to attend from so far away.
Because of the interest and limited seats we recommend early registration so that your seat can be assured.
The conference is in English, and the lectures and workshops are structured in such a way as to allow for Muslims of all levels of knowledge to benefit from the information presented. We are focusing primarily on the newly reverted Muslims. The conference will also serve as a networking opportunity for Reverted and born Muslims.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Labbaik Ya Hujjatullah – “Preparing the foundation for Imam Mahdi (as) eventual return.â€Â
The conference will be held tentatively Friday, April 13th thru Saturday, April 14th 2007. The location will be in Toronto, ON , Canada and will be announced once secured.

Intel Core 2 Duo processors have shaken the Computer world, at least AMD’s if not anyone else’s. Intel is scheduled to release new processors in coming months of 2007 which will add into the current Core 2 Duo processors line up. The newest to arrive is E4300, same as E6300 but with a slightly lower clockspeed, lower FSB and a 6-9 multiplier. I am amazed at the fact that the said processor is scheduled for shipping on 21st of January BUT it has appeared in Pakistan prior to that!!! Yes, E4300 is released here.
It has appeared in the price lists of “POP – Pakistan Office Products”, one of the official distributors of Intel in Pakistan. The price list is dated 5th of January. I have confirmed it from POP, it is available with them. I tried to confirm the said launch from “Intel Corporation Pakistan” and “Intel APAC Sales Center” but no response from them yet. They don’t give a damn about it I guess. The prices are listed as, ofcourse excluding the DAMN Government Sales Tax:
- CPU CORE 2 DUO E4300 1.80GHZ 2MB 800MHZ = Rs. 11,200
- CPU CORE 2 DUO E6300 1.86GHZ 2MB 1066MHZ = Rs. 12,600
- CPU CORE 2 DUO E6400 2.13GHZ 2MB 1066MHZ = Rs. 14,900
- CPU CORE 2 DUO E6600 2.40GHZ 4MB 1066MHZ = Rs. 20,900
- CPU CORE 2 DUO E6700 2.66GHZ 4MB 1066MHZ = Rs. 35,000
So I guess time to say Yeppy and Hurray now! It’s sad though, I did inquire Intel about the said launch, why prior to 21st January in Pakistan but no luck.
Upgraded to the latest version 2.0.6 today.
We have a pretty important release available for everyone, it includes an important security fix and it’s recommended that everyone upgrade. This is the latest release in our stable 2.0 line, which we’ve committed to maintaining for several more years.
Here’s what’s new:
* The aforementioned security fixes.
* HTML quicktags now work in Safari browsers.
* Comments are filtered to prevent them from messing up your blog layout.
* Compatibility with PHP/FastCGI setups.
For developers, there’s a new anti-XSS function called attribute_escape(), and a new filter called “query†which allows you filter any SQL at runtime. (Which is pretty powerful.) Thanks to Mark Jaquith for handling this release and Stefan Esser for responsibly reporting the security issue.
As always, you can download the latest version of WordPress here.
As a side note, this is probably our last release before 2.1 is out, which will be our first major feature release in quite a while. 2.1 just entered beta stage, so if you’re interested in helping out with that process consider joining our beta group. As a reminder, if you’re a plugin or theme author you should check your code to make sure it’s compatible with 2.1 before the release.
