Ali:

I read your poem on your blog, It's a very good poem! It did bring a tears to my eyes. I don't necessarrily disagree with much of what you said in your reply. I don't disagree that American policy in the Middle East has got to change. I definetly don't disagree with you in regard to leaders on all sides of these issues being totaly out of hand with comments and actions. I think alot of Americans think Israel over reacted by invading Lebanon. I think it was an invasion don't you? But I also understand their fustration. I'm fustrated with the Israelis policy towards the Palestians and Gaza. I think alot of Americans are fustrated with the war in Iraq. Believe me, no one in their right mind would want to go into that situation. It's frustrating to see Iraqis killing Iraqis everyday. That would be like Catholics killing Prodestants! I don't think many American's are real happy about the billions and billions of American dollars that are being spent daily on trying to make Iraq a supposed better place to live. I do wonder though if you think it would have been better off to let Sadam just continue on as he was? As far as Saudis go we all no the relationship the royal family has with our government. The billions are flowing into the country yet the standard of living for 99% of the population has not gotten better over the last 20 years. I'll respond with more later. I do appreciate your comments. I am trying to learn more aboput your culture.

Thanks,

Karl, you talk about democracy? What democracy are you talking about exactly? The one that decided to go ahead and start a war with Iraq even when Millions of it's citizens were rallying on the streets of America asking it not to go?

The democracy of US, Britain and Israel, that when millions of people all over the world were protesting and rallying yet those countries decided against a cease-fire? Don't teach us about democracy. But I agree with you, we have always been under a 'thumb' of someone. Someone, like your democratic leaders, who like to not only teach us about democarcy but impose it forcefully.

Why doesn't USA impose democarcy in Saudi Arabia, where a woman is not allowed to even drive a car? Why, cuz' it gets billions of dollars from it?

It's a fact that people of these nations are not in support of America, it is the leaders that have caused havoc, and have been a product of the pressure from the Western Nations. Why is it that Iran bothers America so much, even after it has confirmed that it's nuclear program is not for bombs? Why can't US trust Iran, but expects to be trusted? Who has broken the trust and promises and gone against treaties and UN orders, countless times, US, Britan, Israel, or was it Iran? Is it because Iran has the guts to stand up on it's own feet, and doesn't likw to be bossed around by the US government, while the rest of the Muslims nations are being bossed around?

Please, don't teach us, or even worse, impose your version of democarcy on us. We have seen enough of it.
